For any potential future University student to the Sint Eustatius school of medicine reading our blog we would love to be put as your reference!! :)
The Internet has been giving the Island some trouble so I haven't been able to post for a while. March was a fast easy going month! That is was grateful for!
March really flew by at out house. Birthday parties were a great way to start our month! Our friend Marlin was having a huge surprise b-day party set up by her dear friends at Super Burger. Except the food wasn’t Super Burger, everyone brought a dish to share. Hansel, Marlins husband, flew in for a visit and a surprise birthday party where Todd and I were the distraction to get them so Super Burger. She might have had some suspicion as we saw a bunch of students walking toward Super Burger as we were ‘looking’ for a restaurant to eat at. But it all worked out. I think she was happy and her friends who arranged the surprise were happy. So here we are with Marlin n her special day and the girls giving her a little gift.
So that exact same night was the 40th birthday party of our friend Debbie Rodriguez! So we were party hopping and ate there with Debbie at Smoke Alley. It was a nice night with friends and the kids just enjoying each others company! Debbie does not look 40! Here’s some of the girls, left to right. Wanda, Me, Debbie, Mia, and Carolyn.

The girls were getting really tired and the boys were still going!
Jase had a pretty neat experience this month where he was able to read a report he wrote on the local radio station! The SDA school, I think it might have been all the schools for grade 4, 5, & 6, had their students write reports on 3 different subjects; My island, My Aspiration, and The Happiest Moment of My life. The essay he chose was the one he wrote about My Aspiration expressing his desire to become a scientist and invent… “The machine I want to make will compress oxygen atoms to speed up the process of filling the hole in the ozone layer.” This is a sentence from his essay. He is quite a clever little man and I know whatever he puts his mind to he can accomplish it!
Here is the walkway to the Radio Station, and here is the station. Jase had Gym that day so he is in his Gym uniform. (Here they call gym - gymnastics, I think that might be the real full name and we have just shortened it!).
In the last picture you can see his friends Sharique, Chevron, Kayisha, Shanae in the background.
Here he is just getting ready to read his paper. He was so nervous but he did a really good job!
And then some f the kids piled in the back of the truck to catch a ride back to school after a job well done!!
Incredible sunset from our house one night!! Best one I’ve seen yet!

Playing at the beach with a huge hole filled with kids! Joel Wolsey dug this hole and they are all standing. By the time they were ready to come out we almost couldn’t get them out! It was tricky but they all got out!
Katie wanted to be made into a mermaid so that’s what her Daddy did!.
And here is Saad holding up a fish that Todd had shot. It’s a beautiful parrotfish and it also tasted beautiful!
